Chennai : In this grand event Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palanisamy delivered his speech as follows
My Honourable leader Dr. Puratchithalaivi Amma had a vision to make Tamil Nadu a world leader in manufacturing. In line with that vision, the first ever Global Investors Meet was held in 2015 which was a resounding success.
Following the footsteps of Amma, my Government conducted the second edition of the Global Investors Meet in January this year, which saw investment commitments of over Rs.3 lakh crores.
further chief minister said , that My Government has ensured a committed support for all the MoU projects. As a result, till date, 53 GIM 2019 MoU projects have commenced commercial production and 219 projects are under various stages of implementation and also been working continuously to attract new investments.
further added , I am happy to inform that after the successful completion of Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2019, in the past 10 months alone, Tamil Nadu has attracted 63 new MoU projects with an investment of Rupees Nineteen thousand crores and Eighty three thousand eight hundred new jobs. This includes investments from Japan, Germany, South Korea, USA and UAE.
Today I would like to announce a new initiative to help investors in the State. Industries Department and TNSDC will identify the skill sets needed by the investors. TNSDC will train the youth according to such specific needs of the investors. The companies will have a say in the design of the programme and also in training. They can also select the suitable candidates from among those skilled under this programme.
We are renewing our efforts to increase exports from Tamil Nadu by constituting high level Committee under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary.
And finally chief minister stated that he want to assure every one that my ( AIADMK ) Government is committed to fullfil Puratchi Thalavi Amma's vision of making Tamil Nadu the best global destination for investment and as the manufacturing hub of the world.
